What We Do

Today, MSSWS caters to the Development needs of the poorest and marginalized individuals including Women, Children Youth and Farmers in partnership & collaboration with NGOs, volunteers and dedicated staff, tackling the challenges of the society without counting the cost of struggle, pain or difficulties. Thus, in our units, the projects and programs are geared towards creating opportunities to build a society where every individual’s dignity is upheld in a spirit of equality, liberty and justice. We give below some of the developmental activities being carried out:

Matru Schaya Social Centre, Bhandaraj: We are operating in 55 villages of Anjangaon, Akot Chikaldara blocks of Amravati District, Maharashtra.

    Empowerment of women through Education, skill development and resources.
    Sustainable livelihood programs such as organic farming, cottage industries & micro enterprises,
    Agricultural development through training of farmers in modern techniques and methods of farming.
    Skill development in Dress designing and beauty parlour.
    Educational support by providing boarding facilities for SC, ST children from remote villages, educational materials, remedial classes in villages, libraries for youth.
    Counselling of women in distress and short stay facilities for battered women.
    Enhancing health of malnourished children by educating women in child care and preparation of healthy food from locally available pulses, grains and maintaining kitchen gardens.

Adivasi Vikas Kendra, Shilonda : Quality education for 21 villages covering 32 ZP Schools, 5 Ashram Schools & 72 Anganwadis of Palghar District in Dahanu block.

    Enhancing the education in ZP Schools through Child Parliaments, mobile libraries, community learning centres, awareness programAnganwadi teachers, strengthening of Gram Panchayats and distribution of educational materials.
    Gyan mata Boarding provides boarding facilities for children from remote villages.

Sponsorship program- Amravati for poor and destitute children: Supports poor & destitute children in our eight centres/ boardings

    Provides educational materials, fees, educational materials, medical assistance
    Some of the children especially orphans are helped to do their professional studies.

Divya Joythi Social Centre, Nagpur: Integrated development of 5 slums in in Martin Nagar, Indira Nagar and Nara, Nagpur.

    Education of children through educational materials and conducting Anganwadis and remedial classes.
    Vocational training – tailoring and beauty culture
    Life-skill training and career guidance for youth
    Women empowerment through training in leadership, legal aid, family life and good parenting
    Enhancement of health and hygiene through medical camps
    Livelihood programs such as petty shops, food stalls and sawing machines
    Awareness programs on climate change, save water and importance of education.
    Relief to the poor by providing food grains, ration kit and provisions.

Matru Schaya Health Centres at Bhandaraj Amravati District & Shilonda, Palghar District. These health Centres Provide medical care and assistance to the poor and marginalized sick in the remote villages where there are no medical facilities available.

    Providing medical care through OPD, mobile clinics, medical camps
    Awreness Programmes, HIV testing and Counselling
    Bhadaraj Health Centre conducts regular eye checkup and cataract surgeries
    Simultaneously Ayurvedic treatment and Gold drop Rasayana therapy is practiced.
    A Herbal Garden is grown and various medicines like Face packs, Decotion,Lehyam, Oils, Tonics, Churnam and Chavanprash are prepared. About 25 types of medicines are prepared and distributed.
    Matru Schaya Health Centre, Bhandaraj conducts 1 year “Nurses Assistance Course” inclusive of 3 months practical experience in different hospitals at Anjangaon, Akot, Parathwada.
